July 9, 2008 Missourians Speak Out on proposed Callaway II: Nuclear is Expensive, Dirty, and Dangerous. Today, a broad coalition of Missouri citizens will gather at 6:15 p.m. in Fulton Missouri to announce opposition to AmerenUE’s plan to build a new expensive, dirty, and dangerous nuclear power reactor. 

April 24, 2008 Kansas City Power & Light announces its endorsement of the  Missouri Renewable Energy Ballot Initiative. Requires that investor-owned electric utilities generate or purchase electricity from renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass and hydropower equaling at least two percent of retail sales by 2011.

April 6, 2008 The Missouri Sierra Club supports the Clean Energy Initiative for our state's November 2008 ballot. 85% of Missouri's electricity comes from coal, all of which is imported from out of state. The Clean Energy Initiative requires investor-owned electric utilities to purchase electricity from renewable sources.

In a big win for the Sierra Club and Kansas City Area residents, Missouri's Administrative Hearing Commission issued an order today denying KCPL's motion to dismiss and ordered KCPL to provide discovery documents requested by Sierra Club concerning Iatan I operations.
